Plink · independent films and web series, where the audience decides
Plink is a place where independent films compete and the audience decides. Upload a film and enter it, free. It is drawn against another film. Anyone who has watched both films can vote for one of them. More valid votes wins the matchup and moves on, until one film is left: that film's creator is the champion.
If the audience decides it, entry is free, always. A judged competition, where a named panel scores every film against published criteria, may charge an entry fee the way a festival does; its page says so. In every competition, nothing you can buy affects a seed, a vote, a ranking or the odds of winning. You must own or have licensed everything in what you enter, and you keep your film: entering grants Plink the right to stream it on Plink, nothing more.
Entries are placed in a single-elimination bracket. Seeding is set before the first round and does not change. One round opens per window, runs for its whole window, closes, and the next opens.
A vote only counts from an account that has watched both films in the matchup: 20% of each film's running time, capped at three minutes and never less than thirty seconds, counted by Plink's servers from the film actually playing. One account, one vote per matchup, and you cannot vote in a matchup your own film is in. Votes from bots, duplicate or fake accounts and bought votes are void, and voting is audited every round.
When a competition carries a prize it is a single fixed amount, announced before entries open and held before entries open. It never grows or shrinks with entries or votes. Every accepted film keeps its Official Selection laurel; the winner gets the champion laurel.
Festivals, film schools and brands can run their own competition on Plink under their own rules, judged by their own panel, with an optional audience award that uses the same watch-both rule. The organiser pays their winner directly.
